At the moment it states "O S : Microsoft Windows 98 / ME / 2000 / XP" - But it appears that it cannot work as intended without a specific Windows XP feature!
You have a wonderful product here, (once the collision detection is sorted out), - but do you think it wise to rely on one operating system's features? - if that is what you have done!
I am disappointed that the dual monitor facility does not work the way I had been lead to believe it would!
IMO it is unreasonable (outrageous?) to expect people to change OS, as you suggested, in order to run a SS ! |
Cliff, so sad, I think you misunderstood what I mean.
Microsoft Windows is the platform we are working on, every company has to compromise with it, even NVIDIA. Therefore, since Windows 2000 Pro doesn't build in with Duelview & Horizontal Span, even NVIDIA nView supports for Duelview & Horizontal Span in Windows 2000 Pro, you still have to reboot your computer everytime you switch your display setting. That's the O.S. problem, there is nothing Aqua Garden or NVIDIA nView can do to improve it.

My apologies Gordon, I hadn't seen your reply to me, until James referred to it on the SereneScreen forum. - It was at the top of a new page and I had missed it!
However, I think my points are valid. - No reference is made on the AG system requirements to the effect that if you are using Windows 2000 Pro, it will be necessary to reboot the computer each time the mode is changed! - It may not be your fault, but until I pointed the problem out, it had been implied that simply setting nView to Horizontal Span and changing the AG resolution, was all that was needed! ..... No mention was made of having to reboot the system each time. - This may be an OS requirement, but it is very inconvenient. - I hope a solution to this can be found. You have an excellent product in Aqua Garden, (once the collision detection can be sorted out). And the span across two monitors, with the beautiful high definition backgrounds, is superb! ..... But not if you have to reboot each time you want to change to it. - And leaving the computer set to Horizontal Span is not a practical option for most other applications.
Also, your suggestion that a solution would be to use Windows XP as an upgrade from Windows 2000 Pro will not be received favourably by any 2000 user I have come across! - That is considered a backward step in many people's eyes.
